Realtors® Represent South Florida at Canada’s Largest Real Estate Conference

The Realtors® of the Palm Beaches and Greater Fort Lauderdale (RAPB + GFLR) and the South Broward Board of Realtors® hosted a trade mission at Toronto Realtor® Quest from May 28th to the 30th. This is Canada’s largest real estate trade show and conference, which is put on annually by the Toronto Real Estate Board.

Fifteen Realtors® traveled to Toronto and volunteered at the Association’s booth, which was sponsored by the Armit Ocean Resort and Residences. Broward, Palm Beach, and Treasure Coast market statistics were available to the 10,000 people who attended the Realtor® Quest Expo. This was the largest attendance ever.

“This year we had more people attending Realtor® Quest than previous years. It was a great opportunity for our Global Business Alliance members to build relationships with Canadian Realtors® and provide education on what Southeast Florida has to offer them and their clients.  We look forward to serving the Canadian opportunities generated this year and attending Realtor® Quest in 2020,” said Brian Woods, RAPB + GFLR Global Committee Member and Florida Realtors® 2019 Global Committee Chairman.

RAPB + GFLR and the South Broward Board of Realtors® have attended the Toronto Trade Mission every year with the goal to represent South Florida and create relationships with Canadian brokers. This is a great opportunity for Realtors® to garner significant face-to-face referral potential.

According to the National Association of Realtors® 2018 Profile of International Transactions Report, Canadians accounted for $2.5 billion in purchases of existing homes in 2019 in the Southeast Florida Market. With the growing number of Canadian investors buying in Florida, there is a need for a more effective way to funnel business.

The Canadian brokers were made certain that association members will provide their customers with expert market knowledge and great customer service. As is industry standard, Canadian brokers would be entitled to a referral fee for recommending consumers to South Florida Realtors®.

“Southeast Florida was well represented by the Global Business Alliance members, attracted great interest and put us on the map! The two-day trade show was another big success,” said Steve Froggatt, a Global member of RAPB + GFLR and the South Broward Board of Realtors®.

Florida Realtors® also attended and were well represented. Together, everyone was able to show Canadian Realtors® and brokers how valuable the Florida market is, as well as devise a plan to refer Canadian consumers to Florida Realtor® professionals.
